Meet the team – Q and A with Danielle Ratcliffe

September 28, 2026 By Lucy Feavearyear

We’re delighted to welcome Danielle Ratcliffe to the Mustard team. With over 20 years’ experience in conflict resolution, including more than 10 years as an accredited workplace mediator and conflict coach, Danielle brings a wealth of experience in helping people navigate challenging workplace situations.

We caught up with Danielle to find out a little more about her experience, her approach to conflict resolution and the support she can offer Mustard clients.

Q - You’ve worked in conflict resolution for over 20 years. What drew you to this area of work?

A - I’ve always been interested in helping people work through differences and find a way forward. Conflict can be challenging for everyone, regardless of experience or position, and I really value being able to create a space where people feel comfortable having those difficult conversations.

Q - When might an organisation benefit from mediation or conflict coaching?

A - Conflict can arise for all sorts of reasons — from differences in approach or personality to misunderstandings and communication difficulties. Mediation can help people work through a specific dispute, while conflict coaching can support an individual to better understand and manage a challenging situation or conversation.

Q - What’s the difference between mediation and conflict coaching?

A - Mediation brings people together to have a structured conversation, with an impartial mediator helping them understand each other and work towards an agreed way forward. Conflict coaching is more individual, helping someone explore what is important to them, consider different perspectives and develop the confidence and skills to manage difficult conversations constructively.

Q - What can people expect when they work with you?

A - I take a calm, open and impartial approach. My role isn’t to tell people what to do, but to listen, ask questions and help them gain perspective so they can work towards outcomes that feel right for them.

Q - Why is it important to address workplace conflict early?

A - The sooner we can address conflict, the more opportunity there is to have a constructive conversation before things become more difficult. Resolving concerns can improve understanding and communication, while also supporting confidence, accountability and healthier working relationships.

Q - What are you most looking forward to about joining Mustard?

A - I'm really looking forward to joining a supportive team who put people at the heart of what they do.  It feels exciting to be amongst professionals who have great experience in their fields and to have the opportunity to compliment one another's skills and qualities to bring the best results for clients!

Q - And finally, what do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

A - Outside of work, I enjoy long walks with my dog and spending time with family and friends. I also love music — and I’m always partial to a bit of dancing!
