I was tasked with mobilising the people management aspects of a new 10 year £6.5m Joint Venture (JV) employing 150 staff.
I took a collaborative approach, spending time leading up to transfer getting to know local key stakeholders and the recognised Trade Unions, with whom we would eventually be consulting with.
As well as the traditional HR work involved in a transfer, I also became involved in the wider operational issues and other project management tasks, taking particular care to ensure as far as possible that the incoming organisation’s culture was to become embedded in the new company. Once mobilised, the JV went on to thrive. Many staff and managers who transferred commented on how they had felt much better supported and were amazed how “things just got done”. Soon after the transfer the JV won £200k of additional work.
